Revision as of 21:56, 11 January 2022

This entry includes information regarding both Pathologic (2005) and Pathologic 2 (2019).

Antibiotics refers to a category of drugs found in Pathologic 2 that can be used to treat people who have been infected with the Plague.

In order to correctly treat people, the player must first diagnose which Layer the infection is in and then give the patient the corresponding antibiotic. If an incorrect antibiotic is prescribed, the patient's infection will only decrease by 25% of the assigned antibiotic's normal potency.

Pills

Antibiotic pills can be purchased from Pharmacies, and bartered from the Town's children and the Dead Item Shop. They may also occasionally be obtained during story-related events. Pills can be traded to infected townsfolk and Dandy in the Soul-and-a-Half Fortress.

Effects

  • Note that all of the following reductions made to Infection (Player & NPC) and Health occur relative to those stats' current value rather than their total value, such that neither status meter is fully depleted.

Home-Brewed

See "Yas" Antibiotic/"Medrel" Antibiotic/"Zürkh" Antibiotic

As of Day 4, once the Brewery has been fixed, the Haruspex can make home-brewed antibiotics by combining a Tincture with an infected organ or blood.

Home-brewed antibiotics have varying potency, brew time, and additional effects, all of which depend on which organs and tinctures were used to brew them.

Home-brewed antibiotics can be traded to Worms, infected townsfolk and Dandy in the Soul-and-a-Half Fortress.

Spoiler warning: Significant plot details follow.
The studious creation and testing of home-brewed antibiotics will eventually lead the Haruspex to the solution for the Panacea.
Significant plot details end here.

  • *If consumed by the Haruspex, Antibiotics (and Painkillers) brewed with an Infected Liver will give him a buff for 2 in-game hours, during which time his exhaustion recovery in sleep is improved.

Antibiotics refers to a category of drugs found in Pathologic: The Marble Nest that can be used to lower infection. In The Marble Nest, antibiotic medicine cannot be used on others, but the Bachelor can use them to lower his own infection levels.

Neomycinum (+) and Monomycinium (+) are only available in the 2019 re-release and do not appear in the 2016 demo version of Pathologic: The Marble Nest. Likewise, Antibiotics (The Marble Nest) are only available in the 2016 demo version and do not appear in the 2019 re-release.

Antibiotics refers to a category of drugs found in Pathologic which can use used to lower the infection of a healer or may be given to an Executor stationed outside of locations to allow an infected Bound to be visited. Executors will only accept Feromycinum or Monomycinum to give to the infected Bound if the player is not curing them.

While all antibiotic pills are available to all three healers, Dead Gruel is only available to the Haruspex via crafting.

Item Description Effect
Ui feromicin b
Feromycinum
An antibiotic that kills microbes and suppresses their growth. Feromycinum causes a sharp decrease in the number of harmful microorganisms and halves and infection's rate of progression. It does not eradicate the disease, but can significantly lower the level of infection and even return the patient to consciousness. Is very harmful to health. Decreases infection by 80, exhaustion increases by 30, and health decreases by 30.
Ui monomicin b
Monomycinum
An antibiotic that kills microbes in the organism and suppresses their growth. Monomycinum doesn't kill harmful microorganisms, but strongly impedes their reproduction which is crucial for this type of infection. Unable to destroy the disease but can reduce the rate of infection to a third. Significantly harmful to health. Decreases infection by 60, exhaustion increases by 25, and health decreases by 25.
Ui neomicin b
Neomycinum
An antibiotic that kills microbes in the organism and suppresses their growth. Neomycinum slightly decreases the number of harmful microorganisms but does not slow down the rate of infection. Unable to destroy the disease, but can halve the level of infection. Slightly harmful to health. Decreases infection by 40, increases exhaustion by 15, decreases health by 15.
Deadgruel
Dead Gruel
A combination of twyrine infusion and some organic material. May function as a primitive antibiotic. A prototype of the future serum. How close of a prototype is yet to be determined with careful research. Decreases infection and decreases health. Potency of effect varies depending on the Twyrine Extract used in the mixture.
