Captain Longin is a minor character in Pathologic and Pathologic 2 and an officer in the Army.
Description
Captain Longin was assigned to Alexander Block's unit right before the troops were sent to the Town to defeat the Plague. He is in command of the flamethrower corps and a commander of the 15th Company. Longin is described as "a stalwart officer, a heart burning with passion", "a loyal watchdog". Captain Ravel said he would go through hell or high water for the general.
Plot
Pathologic
Acting on Bachelor's advice, Longin orders the burning of the miraculous bull at the Bone Stake Lot.
During the events of the game, Captain Longin starts a mutiny among the soldiers. Under his command, the soldiers try to seize the cannon. The mutineers start a series of executions, capturing many regular people in Town as well as Andrey Stamatin, Peter Stamatin, and Grace.

After the mutiny stirs in the army, General Block gets arrested and Captain Longin takes the command in his hands, telling the soldiers that the general caught the plague, so now the troupes can leave the Town. However, it is speculated that Longin and other mutineers are doing it from the love and respect for their general — they seized him to make sure he doesn't have to disobey orders, and removing him from dirty work means he won't be punished when the forces return to the Capital.
Longin's mutineers establish three outposts in the Town, where they clash with the soldiers. One of the couriers sent by Aglaya Lilich with the Inquisitor's orders gets caught in a crossfire between soldiers and mutineers.
It is implied that Aglaya Lilich is executed on Captain Longin's orders.
Pathologic: The Marble Nest
Following Commander Block's death at the hand of the Sand Plague, the chain of command passes to Captain Longin, who is also infected with the Plague.
Under Longin's command, Var is taken to the Town Hall for a "talk". Stanislav Rubin plans to run away with the Army when it leaves town.

Notes
- In Pathologic, Longin is sometimes referred to as Patroclus.
- Longin's model is the same as the generic army soldier model in Pathologic. He is not seen during the course of Pathologic 2, although it is assumed he would still be depicted with a generic soldier model.
- His name is probably a reference to Longinus, the Roman Centurion who pierced the side of Jesus with a spear in the Christian tradition.
