Lika is a Doghead, previously aligned with Notkin's Soul-and-a-Halves.

Description

Lika is a young teen and former member of the Soul-and-a-Halves. Despite being a young boy, Lika is a dangerous person infamous for his betraying and double-crossing nature.

In Pathologic, he is persecuted by Notkin and the Soul-and-a-Halves for stealing from and killing a fellow Soul-and-a-Half; Bad Grief requests Haruspex to kill Lika, too.

In Pathologic 2, he is wanted and persecuted by the Soul-and-a-Halves after poisoning their Halves (pets) and running away.

Plot

Pathologic

Bachelor Route

Lika does not appear in the Bachelor route.

Haruspex Route

On Day 1, the Haruspex is asked by both Notkin and Bad Grief to find Lika and deal with him accordingly. Bad Grief wants Lika dealt with because he poisoned one of his thieves, took the stash and ran off into the Steppe. Notkin only says that Lika betrayed the Soul-and-a-Halves. The Haruspex may choose to either let Lika off with a warning or kill him. Lika carries a Shmowder on him, which can be taken if he is dead.

On Day 9, if Lika was not killed, the Haruspex will find him guarding the prison cell where the Bachelor is held. Lika will remember that the Haruspex spared him and let the Bachelor go for free.

Changeling Route

On Day 1, the Changeling will find Lika hiding behind some rocks near the Train Station. He is heavily injured. She learns that he stole a Shmowder from another boy, who wanted it for his sister, in order to give it to Khan and get accepted into the Dogheads. When the boy tried to steal the powder back, Lika waited out for the right moment and poisoned him. Notkin wanted to punish him and sent the Haruspex to find him. The Haruspex attempted to kill him, but Lika escaped. After hearing Lika's story, the Changeling attempts to heal the boy, but he ends up dying instead. Lika carries a lockpick on him, which can be taken.

Pathologic 2

Lika is the first person the Haruspex may speak to upon arriving in town on Day 1. He remarks that the Haruspex was quick to murder the three men attacking him and that murder does not have to be one’s first impulse in a fight.

Later, Notkin tells the Haruspex of a turncoat who poisoned the Soul-and-a-Halves friends. He gives the Haruspex a leash to give to Lika, saying he will understand what it is for.

If the Haruspex does not give Lika the leash, the boy will promise to serve as a witness for the Haruspex if he chooses to testify for himself at the Town Hall, though upon arrival, he finds that Lika bailed on him and the boy will never show up. If the leash is handed over, Lika will be found at the back of the Soul-and-a-Half Fortress. If spoken to, he will not recognize the Haruspex and reply strangely. If pressed about it, Notkin can reveal that he was thrown down a well as a punishment.

Notes

  • In English, Notkin compares Lika's name to the word "boot-licker". In Russian, his name (Лиза) is compared to "лизоблюд" - sycophant.
  • In the original 2005 version of Pathologic, Lika was replaced with a strange man called Some Git in order to censor the fight the Haruspex may have with him, due to sensitivities with a grown man beating up a child. In Classic HD, the Doghead model was restored.
  • In Pathologic 2, Lika shares his voice actors with Khan.
